The man on the far right in the video below is playing a Violoni, (Violone).
He was also my best friend when we were kids and in high school and my college roommate for our 1st year.
After he retired as an elementary school principal he returned to music full time and he is a very accomplished musician , composer and obviously a huge fan of Baroque music.
Thanks to Phil, I now know more about period instruments and Baroque music than I ever needed or wanted to know.

Remarkable recording. Roughly 5 or 6 seconds of reverb. Congratulations to the performers and the technical crew. Here is my recording from the Helena Symphony. I was satisfied with my work until I heard this performance.
MASTERWORKS CONCERT IV: Romeo & Juliet - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tA7wjZ2C0Fw
If the link does not work you can search for Helena Symphony Orchestra.
Music starts at about 19:30 or so.
Thanks for the link.

/\ That's pretty funny. At one time for another I think every instrument in the orchestra has mentioned to me that their horn, flute, clarinet, etc, could be just a little louder. Quite entertaining. j

And if you want to invest 10 minutes of your life listening to beautiful music, try this. Ravel's piano concerto, second movement, performed by Jon Nakamatsu and HSO.

Second movement starts at about 23:45. The dialog between the piano and the other soloist's is delightful. j
