Finally found the one..Trans Am Convertible (Page 1/2)

Been looking for a really nice 87-92 for years. only a few hundred made each year (zero made in ‘90). Didn’t want red or black, preferred an automatic cause it’s just for cruising and burger/ice cream runs.

Found this gun metal gray in MD. It’s a 91 that’s been in same family since ‘04. 39k miles. 5.0 TPI, Leather and WS6 suspension

Nice!

Beautiful car

Good luck, that thing is going to try and kill you and bankrupt you at the same time. Mine was green with a tan top and interior.

I ended up giving it away for free and buying something a little more user-friendly. A Mini Cooper. Yeh, I really aint that bright.

There was a period of time that the Big Three quit making convertibles. Seems like if was late 80s but, I really don't remember. Regardless, the first year they started making them again my BIL got hold of a Trans Am convertible, 350 CI (I think) automatic, white top, interior and body. Was a really cool car back then. The car was basically only driven on special weekends, car shows and times like that but only when the sun was shining. Was never rained on.

He still has that Firebird, it's got less than 20K miles on it. Told me the other day he'd like to sell it but, I don't think his wife would let him. She wants one of his boys to inherit it..

If my "wife" ever told me I couldn't do something with one of my cars. Well I don't have a wife, anymore.
I would have drove the snot out of the car by now my convertible has drove from Florida to Ohio to CA several times.
Cars are made to be driven.

Jake,
I still have a wife (coming up on 41 years) and I plan to keep her but, there are limits to every relationship. Over the years, I've owned 21 different 88 notchbacks and not one time did she ever tell me to buy or sell one. That doesn't mean she didn't roll her eyes a lot but, as I said, there are limits. Those limits go both ways. There are things I wouldn't even think of telling her to do. She drives exactly what she wants to drive and so do I.

Probably the biggest eye roll I ever got was after crashing my Valkyrie I went and bought another one. The reason for the eyeroll was, I was still in two casts for broken bones and had to have a friend test ride it cause I couldn't roll the throttle. She didn't say a word but, everyone knew she didn't want me back on a bike. Now, there's two of them sitting in the garage along with the Solstice.

Lisa my girlfriend also rolls her eyes but if I brought it home she would be ok with it.
She likes the idea of me getting another Fiero but I think now is the time to look for another mid engine V8 car, she has been very supportive and should the right one show up I will be bringing it home.

I figured Mike and Ron would be in here. Good looking car. I was bever an F-Body guy, probably some kind of thing growing up with Fieros. That is a very fine looking specimen. Um a huge fan of interior photos. That's how you can tell if a car has really been taken care of. I would consider dropping 10-15k on something like this or another done out Fiero. I hate driving. My daily commute (3 days a week) is, well I can see my work from my bedroom window. I'm currently in an apartment as primary residence and I couldn't stomach leaving something like that in the elements. I'm like Ron with the weather. When I bought my AMG my buddy had just bought a new C7. It was an uncharacteristically snowy time. He had to get his new Vette home because of the weather. I was confused. He sold his F150 to buy the damn thing. I couldn't understand it. Dude owned a fish and ski. His payment was $1200 a month then he traded it in for the next year newer and it went to $1350. I loved heckling him about that crap. The weather was awful I was in my Super Duty and the ground clearance was much needed. I couldn't imagine trying to take my L67 Fierp out in it. Though his last few Vettes definitely would do better in inclement weather, especially with them being automatics, 20+ years newer, traction control, an engine that was designed for the car, you know. Those minor differences.

Back on topic. Purdy. Interior photos or we know you really didn't buy it.

Enjoy the car. I hate driving so much anymore myself. I literally moved across the city to avoid having a commute to work. I'm paying more for a smaller place all that to cut out a 17 mile drive. I was working 4 days a week then, but that's how much I hate driving.

I'm just the opposite, I love road trips. Doesn't matter what I'm driving or riding. As I tell my wife, every trip is a new adventure. I can assure you, I've had some great and not so great experiences on the road.

An example of one trip that could have been a lot more fun but, was a real experience.

This is what happens when you get "dirty" diesel fuel.

BTW, that does appear to be one nice TA in the opening pics. I'd have one like it if, I had more garage space.
