Insteon! (Page 1/1)

There probably aren't many Insteon users here, but just in case, it looks like they are back. I don't use the hub, I use an ISY, but the servers are back on line.

quote
A New Day for Insteon!

We are a small group of passionate Insteon users that have successfully acquired Insteon. Like many of you, our homes are powered by Insteon’s amazing dual-mesh technology and highly configurable products.

Most of you discovered that the Insteon Hubs began coming back online. Our first priority was getting the hubs online immediately before we had access to this site, the email service provider, social accounts, etc. Every day more customers were giving up hope so it was critical to get that restored as soon as possible. We are aware not all functions are back online but we are actively working on it. We hope you understand this urgency and appreciate your patience.

Going forward we are committed to responsibly re-building the Insteon business. Our commitment to you, as part of the Insteon family, is to listen, communicate and be as transparent as possible in everything we do.

Please stay tuned for updates here as well as on twitter, facebook, reddit and elsewhere. If you are an Insteon Hub account holder, look for an email in the coming days.

Thank you all for your patience. We look forward to sharing this new journey with you.

Best regards,
Ken Fairbanks
CEO, Insteon Technologies

I have been using their stuff for over a decade and some of us think it is the best, most reliable HA (no, not that HA) system out there.

Servers are "Easy..."

What is going to pay the bills? Because a lot of people gotten burned won't be in a hurry to buy anything with that brand. Retailers won't hurry to sell them too even if they make anything.

There is some debate going on here: https://forum.universal-dev...insteon-back-online/

The guy who owns UD was outbid by the new group. There is a lot more going on here than just the servers. We will have to just wait and see.

Insteon is a first class product, and there is no easy answer to exactly what happened. This reminds me of the Buell story: an excellent motorcycle designed and built by a motorcycle guy who was not a businessman.

Many will say, "But I never heard of Insteon". That is part of the problem.

I, being ignorant to all the details, still admire their efforts...

The group that bought the company look sorta familiar.
