"... blah blah blah Taxes, blah blah blah the White Sox, blah blah blah the Whole Damn Thing."
I think it was Jean Shepherd (Jean Parker Shepherd, Jr.) whose dates were 1921-1999. From a comedy album he created, during the long ago days of "vinyl." Reminiscing about his childhood in 1920s and 1930s Chicago, with a father who (according to the reminiscence) favored a Pabst Blue Ribbon lager beer at breakfast because it "got his gut going."
Segue to an article that's just been published; to wit:
"Men's gut health improves by drinking lager beer, study suggests" Judy Packer-Tursman for UPI; June 15, 2022. https://www.upi.com/Health_...study/8511655299023/
  EXCERPT

 | quote | | The small study, published Wednesday in the American Chemical Society's Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, found that healthy men who drank one alcoholic or non-alcoholic lager daily developed a more diverse set of gut microbes, which is associated with a lower risk of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. |
