McIntosh.
I'm going to peep these when I get time. I'll let you know if I like.
Edit: hell yeah! It's a read and not a bunch of videos. I feel like I'm the only one who would rather just read an article anymore.[This message has been edited by ls3mach (edited 06-23-2022).]

It's late. I just skimmed the articles. But yeah... pretty accurate, for as far back as I remember. I started out with 8-Track, and progressed forward, from there.
The last part (apparently) alluded to the "retro" theme, and not cobbling up your car to install the latest and greatest technology. (I could be mistaken. As I said, it's late.) I found that interesting, since I just installed a Double DIN head unit into one of my Fieros. I love the technology. It does everything my "20-teen" vehicle sound systems can do. But I wonder if it's worth it. If I could plug in to my later (early 2000s) 1.5 DIN Delco head unit and use my phone "hands-free", and also pipe my iPod through it, I would be quite satisfied. (Yeah... iPod. I know. I use WMA or CDA to import my music. MP3 sounds... bad.)
I have the Retrosound 1.5 DIN head unit in my other car. It does what it's supposed to, I suppose. But I'm not much of a fan.

I installed one for a friend. She was quite happy with the improvement and link to iPhone.
