Anyone used Carvana? (Page 1/1)

Still looking for a used pickup truck. (Man, they are way out of sight in price!)

Any pros, cons or pitfalls to carvana other than not being able to see or test drive before committing to buy?

Several friends and relatives of ours have used Carvana.
They come with a money-back guarantee, I think. What they probably don't tell you, going in, is that there are restrictions.
I don't remember if it's a mileage thing, or if you can't go out of state.
Vehicles seemed to be priced a bit higher than you can find them for "out in the wild". Although, in this day and age, who knows?

Also check out "cars.com". Local dealers or (sometimes) private sellers can list there. It's basically a search engine that can be broken down by make, model, year, price, and distance from whatever location you choose.

Good luck.
Yeah... prices are stupid, but I hear they may be coming back down a bit.

I've used Carvana it worked out ok. I bought one, traded in one and sold one to them.

From what I can tell they don't do much to the cars as far as inspection. They slap makeup on it and send it. So my advice is to have another inspection done. Treat the car as if its an asis sale from an unknown 3rd party and carvana is just the broker. My understanding is their warranty is garbage and the shops they do business with will refuse carvana cars. Lastly id avoid bridgecrest their financing office as much as possible. I didn't get a good feeling from them. I didn't like some of the numbers so I refinanced after I did that I got some scam calls with a lot of my information and my vehicles information. Either they lost or sold my information or BOA did. Not sure but because I was running away from bridgecrest I blame them.

The vehicle we got had issues the passenger seat heater would get stuck on. The tires they installed are the cheapest POS that look over loaded. The interior was dirty not well detailed. I can see where people give out negative reviews. Im handy and had set my expectations low and treated it like buying from an anonymous seller asis with a small window to return to sender.

⚠️ Carvana have big legal problems in several states for Not processing Titles etc.

This review is too honest and brutal for my taste. I will be steering clear.

There is a huge Carvana operation just a few miles from me. They have 50 to 60 acres at the two operations. One is about 1.5 miles from me and is surrounded by pastureland.
It's where they take in the vehicles. There is a large CarQuest parts center within that compound that's dedicated only to Carvana. No public sales. That location is where the cars are prepped. We have untagged vehicles zipping around all over the countryside around here, apparently being test driven by the service people. Sometimes the cars are individually driven the 4 or 5 miles to the lot where they are shipped from. Car haulers are always bringing vehicles into both locations. The only ones that leave the shipping point that aren't on a car hauler are the many that are stolen. On one occasion, 7 cars went through the gate at one time, stolen by a group of thieves.

I only know of one person who has bought through them. The wife of one of our former Pastors bought through them. They were very satisfied with the vehicle. The car she wanted wasn't available locally, so she had to pay a sizeable shipping fee to bring it in.

Not only do I see Carvana tagged vehicles going out on the car haulers, but there is also Drive Time, Car Max, DriveWay and another with the pink license plate frame. Aside from Ogre's remarks about the titles, there have been some local reports of vehicles that came from hurricane flood areas being sold through Carvana.
