Amazon Prime (Page 1/2)

I officially recognize myself as an idiot !!!

For the 2 1/2 years I've been shopping Amazon, I refused to sign up for prime. NO WAY was I going to waste 10 bucks just in case I wanted 2-day delivery.

I never realized Prime Video was included in the price.

HOLEY SHEEETT !! There is good movies and shows on this. For 10 bucks a month, I'm in !!

(Signed up Thursday and haven't stopped since )

For a while prime video was considered one of the worse streaming services, but in the last couple years they have really kicked it up with all their originals. Man in the high castle, the boys, reacher, the tick, jack ryan, invincible, the grand tour was good for the first season or two, haven't been interested in it after that though.

Yeah, like Potato said... their selection used to be horrendous. Like... if you wanted to watch Llamageddon 5, then you got Amazon Prime Video. But anything more than a college B-movie, and you weren't getting much.

They've really upped their game in the past several years. But also, Prime is now $140 a year.

It also includes Amazon Music (limited version), but it isn't half bad.

Prime Video sort of suck for a long time, but they have some decent movies and content now, and occasionally some blockbuster movies.

Prime also gives you unlimited photo storage and something like 5-gigs of video storage if you want to use that as well.

If you have a Kindle or Kindle App, Prime gives you access to a good size library of books, in a library style, meaning you can check out a book for free and keep it as long as you want but you are limited to how many you can check out at a time, I think it is like 15 or something like that. If you buy an e-book, yes, you keep that forever and can access it anytime.

Prime also gives you free games through Twitch (which Amazon owns now), but I don't game so I have never used it.

Prime isn't all that bad. Yes, they have jacked up the Prime membership from $99 to $139. They do give discounts to students, teachers and other professions (forget which).

Honestly the best part of Prime is the fast and free shipping. I regularly get items the next day anymore.

Prime is the only service I pay. I get it for $5.99 I think. Find someone with a food stamps or as Don suggested any street walker and you get it half priced. I don't know all the rules to it, but I've had it for years.

I can easily spend $6 fuel in 1 trip anywhere and if you order regularly free shipping covers itself.

I haven't used their music, I hear it's decent. I tried audible, but only for the Echo Dot they included. I think there are a bunch of books included with prime too. Shows have gotten noticeably better, though I find it heavy on British content. Dirty red coats. 2 day and 1 day shipping to suburban and urban areas is really clutch though at $6. I don't use their video or photo service, but it's basically like all the others is my understanding. I didn't know it was unlimited. I might swap from Dropbox when I rec9ver these drives. Thanks for that.

Personally, i thought amazon music "limited" was kinda trash. Very little selection, meh audio quality, and very stupid download. Limited offline playback, had to refresh downloads every 24h, could only keep downloads for a few days before you had to redownload, and the app was just slow, unintuitive, and unpleasant to use. Really ALL of amazon's mobile apps have terrible design. Video, music, shopping, they're actually horrible. I just use spotify premium student for music. cheap, and gets me hulu

I use 0 of their services. I have a Firestick and a dot. I use no Alexa functions. I may have spoken out of turn, the person I heard say how great it was, was a premium user. He was an audiophile and used amps and such for headphones to get proper fidelity, if that gives any idea. Assuming it is a lossless codec on the premium or I missed the whole of the conversation that I had not been initially involved.

They were known and still have some of the absolute worst content. I have on a movie "Kept Girl". It is rated I think a 2.2 on IMDB and thus far earning it. I usually just go for background noise. I am too close to finishing my book and don't want to "waste" the last bit.

I do like the Firesticks, but something I noticed. The search function has something peculiar to it. I notice some movies and shows come up not at all or very odd.

Pirates of Silicon Valley. Will not show at all on Firestick. This is odd as IMDB is an Amazon company and it shows there, so it does exist.
David the gnome. Obscure 80s cartoon. 1 episode online. It seems to be the final one. The gnome, his wife, and their friend go off in to the mountains to die.
There are other movies and content that just don't show. I found it strange that they don't even come up in a search.

Look into the food stamps and other discount offers. As I said, I've had this discount for years.
