Most people will probably remember James Caan from his role as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather.
I remember James Caan from a terrific movie called Thief. It came out in 1981, and was directed by Michael Mann, before he went on to do Miami Vice.
The movie has a killer sound track done by Tangerine Dream.

I honestly can't remember many movies he was in, but I loved him in "Las Vegas"!

It was a very futuristic movie for it's time but if I remember, roller derby was huge at that time. San Francisco Bay Bombers and the New York Dynamite to name a couple. They just made a more violent and deadly version for the film

I saw Rollerball at a theater when it first came out. (Geez, I'm old.) What stuck with me all these years were the weird fonts!

Good actor, see, he really isn't an operator, he just plays one. Still.

Just saw an obscure film from 1973, called "Slither". about two weeks ago.
Starred James Caan, Sally Kellerman, Peter Boyle, and Louise Lasser.
Quirky but very entertaining plot.

I think the 1st movie I remember seeing him in was El Dorado (with John Wayne) . His character seemed forced and kind of goofy, wearing a really dumb gay looking hat, (for the times they were) and his acting skills not what they were later in his career.
I liked Rabbit, Run, and he was pretty good in Cinderella Liberty and Gardens of Stone.
