(I know, I am guilty of playing around with EV's. I dont rely on them, I can get my "stuff' or get where I am going with or without)

Anybody find it at least mildly amusing that Texas and California (two states with diametrically opposite political philosophies) both seem to have the most rickety power infrastructure(s) in the country?
(Yes... I get the "why". Just interesting that they both have the same issues for vastly different reasons.)

Extremism is a one-way ticket to failure. We do best when we work together and use the best ideas mixed to solve problems innovatively.

I can't begin to guess how much energy is being saved through LED lights (Vs the old Incandescents)...To bad we can't come up with similar savings for air-conditioning and electric motors....Plus better solar cells and batteries...But that would be against our "Royalty" (Oil Oligarchs)...Their profits take precedent!

The electricity required to charge the EVs come from coal, natural gas-powered generation. Carbon producing power. The weak power grid in California cannot handle an increase demand for electric now, so what about the future? There seems to be many issues with the life of the $20,000 batteries and some spontaneous eruptions of the batteries. There are many issues with the limited number of charging stations, so trip planning involves finding the charging stations along your route every 200 miles or so and spending 30-45 minutes to charge your car.

When your EVs life is over there is no ware to "junk" your EV car, as the batteries are unrecyclable.

Trends are pointing towards EVs in a big way. I don't see it slowing, stopping or reversing.
