GM Will Cancel Your Warranty if You Buy Your Z06 From a Flipper (Page 1/1)

From the article...
The long and short of it is this: GM is “limiting the transferability of certain warranties” on those three models “if the vehicle is resold within the first 12 months of ownership.” The automaker says it’s pursuing this action because “when vehicles are quickly resold, particularly by unauthorized dealers or other resellers that do not adhere to GM’s standards, the customer experience suffers and GM’s brands are damaged.” The letter also points out that “these changes will not impact product recalls in any way,” and says the action will “help prioritize ownership by brand enthusiasts and loyal customers.”

Yeah... I think that's not gonna last long. But I'm sure the dealers love it.

Not that I have the money to pay "scalper" prices for anything automotive. Or anything else, for that matter.

They act like they are doing the public a favor keeping recalls no matter what. With safety recalls, they have no CHOICE. Those recalls are for the life of the vehicle no matter who owns it or when they bought or who they bought it form.

Reminds me of the sign I saw in the meat dept a couple years ago. "Our poultry is growth hormone free!"

"GM brands are damaged"?

They're damaged the minute that company releases a new vehicle. Overpriced, electrical nightmare garbage vehicles with a depreciation value of more than 50% as soon as the vehicle leaves the lot.

GM needs to die.

GM is kind of dead to me... there's not a single car they make that I actually would want to own. They make some decent cars... I just don't like the styling, at all. I might be jaded by the FORCED bankruptcy, which was nothing more than a bailout of the UAW because of their unfunded pensions. But whatever... I've long since stopped caring about GM being a global leader. I like Fords... their vehicles are more interesting, and more exciting. There's not a single GM vehicle I have any interest in.

I had absolutely no idea. I see that on almost every single chicken freezer package... sigh... that pisses me off. I wonder how many other things are being pushed that is technically true, but basically BS?

I think Don has mentioned the growth hormone thing before.

I too am headed Todd. I haven't bought a GM truck, not even used since the bailout. I have bought a couple GM vehicles, but either a Fiero or just too cheap to not buy.

I like how they're spinning this to be for consumers. I'm 0% in the market for a C8. Whatever.

I have seen other things besides the chicken advertised. None come to mind, but next time I run across one I'll post it.

They do still use growth hormones in beef cattle, sheep and in hogs. The old implant, diethylstilbestrol (DES..a synthetic estrogen hormone) was banned for humans in 1971 and in cattle in 1979 and now only 3 natural steroids are approved and 3 synthetic clones of those are approved by FDA/USDA. trenbolone acetate, zeranol and melengestrol acetate. Usually marketed to ranchers under the name Ralgro.
For dairy cattle, a different kind is used to increase milk production. rbGH and rbST. They mimic the natural hormone Somatotropin produced in the pituary gland .

I'm not against thier use but firmly believe products that come from animal implanted or injected with rbGH/rbST should be labeled as such.

The US is one only a few nations that still allow these type dairy growth stimulants. Canada, European Union Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Israel, and Argentina have all banned the use of rbST because of the effects it can have on the animals it is used on.

If you get caught doping your dairy cows here you will be banned from the co-op and you won't be shipping milk. A guy I know got caught a few years ago. He's now raising beef and a supplemental cash crop, if you get my drift.
