Interesting, thanks for posting. We have come a long ways since I was a kid.

I had a friend (RIP) who spent his life working in the press room of The Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette. When he started he was pulling levers, spinning wrenches and crawling around inside giant multi-story presses fixing paper jams. Thirty years later, everything was controlled by touch screens and he shared the walkways with robot forklifts carrying giant rolls of paper. The content and layout came in from someplace else, often from very far away. Now, that industry is almost gone.

(It ties in very well with automation)

Found it interesting that some of the companies mentioned (and linked) are already gone, partly due to them not evolving fast enough!

Oooof. That Gandhi quote made me think of that report about how a decent percentage of little kids no longer know how to stack blocks. (or even own blocks to stack)
Kids don't write as much as they used to, and their forearm (finger) strength and tenacity is lacking. They will make ez-opening pickle jars.

Wasn't George Jetson's job to push a single button all day?

I think that Ghandi quote was from the early 20th century.
