Olivia Newton-John dead at 73 (Page 1/1)

Wow... I cannot believe she was already that old. I grew up with movies like Grease and they had a profound influence on my youth. When Grease came out, I was 13 years old and I so much wanted to be like John Travolta. I bugged my mom to buy me a leather jacket and of course I greased up my hair too. 😂 And all my girlfriends wanted to be like Olivia Newton-John. Crazy times.

I remember her from those days. It's amazing how we always remember someone "as they were" and never think that as we age, so do they. Some celebrities from my youth are unrecognizable today.

Never was much into her- Her music was good but could not (Ever) watch Grease....But she certainly worked hard at supporting Cancer research and support. So definitely a great lady who will be missed.

Yeah, it's shocking sometimes. Especially when you meet them in person. I went to an event once where I was in the room for a bunch of folks from the 80's shows, and it was EXTREMELY strange, because of their "advanced" age and also because they were all together in close proximity. Some timewarp crossover action...

My favorite song of hers:

Kinda hypnotic or somethin'

I once got to see in person at The Olympic after party in Homebush and she looked amazing hanging with Farnham LRB. RIP she was pretty much everyone's crush.
