That is fascinating.

It's amazing how much invasive species that we have introduced to specific ecosystems that have had negative consequences, not including plants.

If you want to know the largest evasive species eradication project conducted, it's called Project Isabella. They eliminated over 200,000 goats from the Galapagos Islands. Often by shooting them from helicopters.

that fish is one of hundreds animals and plants that's invading just the US alone.

Examples:
Many boat owners and many others have problems w/ Zebra Muscles.

Most Marsh areas have invasive plants in-particular one, think name is Phragmites, that looks like "normal" rushes to most people have chocked out all others and most animals no longer live in them. On top of that, grows nears road etc and "just a spark" will burn fast actually helping the weed to push out other plants.

Then there's the "current panic," Chinese Spotted Lanternfly invasive to Japan, South Korea, now many US states...
States hype that they will control this... Like the gypsy moth and 40+ years later still have problems even tho easy to see the "tents..."

Zebra Mussels; the Wake boat Fat Sacks are transportation systems for them...They should ban fat sacks and make wake boats use a reverse trim tab that can be actuated from the driver's seat; Passing fishermen standing in fishing boat, cut the wake, passing kids playing in the water at a beach, cut the wake, passing docks- cut the wake...be >>POLITE<<...and CON-sider-ate.....

Ad on this thread shows another nasty beastie.

Those lantern flies are all over New York city. There are signs around - "if you see it, stomp it"

They have very pretty red wings.

And then there are other invasive species that are slowly spreading in the US. One of the most publicized is the Killer Bee and very little good is said about them.

All the white ash trees here are dying do to the invasive emerald ash beetle.

NY and PA are major suppliers of ash for baseball bats.
