Has Jim Cantore showed up yet?

Stay safe. I got extra bedrooms for any needing a safe place.

They started evacuation for some of the counties so you may not get a response for a while.
Tampa for sure and all of the mobile homes in other places are being told to evacuate.

I have lived through several of these, keep your head down and fill your cars with gas.

Not bad yet. Work in retail and a lot of new people to the hurricane game. Should have bout stock in water.

Be safe

We have a lot of new residents here that moved recently from the Northeast and California and they are LOSING THEIR DAMN MINDS.

Right now NOAA has the track showing landfall near Ft. Meyers / Port Charlotte....those folks there got almost wiped off the map by Charley back in 2009
CoolBlue87GT lives down there so he is of obvious concern along with others down that way.

IF it stays on the course it's on now we will escape the worst of it where I'm at, (Northwest of Tampa)
Prep is all done. 35 gallons of gas stored. Both generators checked and ready. Food and fresh water all stocked. Charcoal and kerosene in stock. Guns clean, oiled and ammo supply plentiful. Nothing much to do now but wait and see.

Just remember kids, It's not THAT the wind is blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing....

Hahaha...

Hasn't been too bad yet.

Randye, I'm over in the fancy Fishhawk area with all the transplants. So we haven't seen much yet. We're right next to an evacuation zone because of flooding, but oddly enough (never seen this before), my home sits on a concrete pad that is over 3 feet above ground... which is weird. I don't think my home will see any flooding, but almost positive my detached garage will get possibly a foot of flooding.

Looks like it's moving a bit more west. As you know, I'm South-East of Tampa, so still in the bad part of the cone, but the indicators have it making landfall further and further south from us... which is bad for Naples, but good for us I suppose.

for those old enough to remember the cuban crisis of the early 60s......
Define Irony.
Hurricane Ian hit the island nation of Cuba hard and the whole country is without power and lights with one glaring exception.
The US Naval Base Guantanamo Bay.
