I forgot about the halloween theme, and cought the spider web out of the corner of my eye. For a second I thought my screen had cracked or my monitor was going on the fritz.

I gotta remember 2 coffees before heading to PFF.

The spider is what surprised me. with my 34" 21:9 monitor i do a lot of side to side looking, and didn't notice it crawl out in the middle haha.

The Theme is a Flash program that Adobe killed that crap...
Now is run via "ruffle" that very likely have security and other problems to emulate Flash.

Now also return the Clock at top of most pages here that should been removed.
If a Browser blocks auto play, shows as black box w/ reddish circle w/ "play arrow."

ruffle is for people and Companies like ARMOR GAMES that Can't or Won't re-code whatever when Adobe killed Flash after years of major security and other problems.

Similar reasons I re-coded the Cave w/ HMTL5 to dump old Java Menu...

OK- It just scared me, also!

Years ago (approx' 1995) I was preparing to swap a 5.0 FI engine into my 1973 mach 1....Had to first remove the 351C...Bright sunny day, wearing sunglasses, I opened the hood and sprayed some Break-Free on the exhaust manifold bolts- suddenly saw movement- something just above my hand!

Grabbed a flashlight and swapped glasses, finally saw HER>>>A large Black Widow...I sprayed her with some bug spray- she crawled along the fender towards me while dragging her dead rear legs, "I'm gonna get you!"

Had seen very strong, disorganized webs on three wheels.....Never any spiders during the >>DAY<<.....Why would a spider be black? Because it only comes out at night. Went out that night and killed three more...two nights later I got a couple more. Finally bought a plastic tarp and a bug-bomb. For the next month I was finding (Dead) widows every so often in the car.

There are huge #s of little white colored spiders here at the new place we moved to in May central west Tx. The garage, I have sprayed twice. Killed hundreds. Their little webs are everywhere on anything that doesn't move. Rose bushes in the yard, you can see dozens of webs at night when there is dew on the ground (a very rare occurrence here ) Last time I swept inside the house, one or 2 came out of every corner of the 2 extra bedrooms. Been looking for some kind of spray to use inside but so far haven't found one that doesn't smell bad.

"Very likely"?

It's open source so it's actually very unlikely. It's written in Rust meaning it actually runs in a sandbox making it as secure as it can be.

Browser doesn't block autoplay. I've actually set it to block autoplay. I just haven't gotten around allowing the clock to autoplay.

What exactly is your problem with this? Every time I implement some kind of new technology, you go on a rant how dangerous and insecure it is. It isn't. It never is/was.If you are so concerned about your security, the only way to be really secure is to unplug yourself from the internet.

No, ruffle is for old ActionScript code for which there's no (financial) incentive to recode it in another language. Ruffle has no corporate backing. It was made by Mike Welsh who just happens to be a Flash fanatic.

Just stop being so negative about everything and just enjoy the show. Your information is safe. No one is trying to steal your identity/bank credentials/data here.

Smells for a couple of hours, but open all the windows and that disappears quick enough. And it leaves a residue that lasts 60 days or something to keep the critters away.

That was a good one. I refreshed the page and the web had come up and it was the theme ive known for years... then a spider went from the web to off the screen and I was like WTF... Neat that's new. Then I spent the next several min trying to get it to come back and then it did but this time in the middle crawling up the post.
