Flat Earthers... 🤦‍♂️ (Page 1/6)
Cliff Pennock NOV 01, 10:50 AM
I've been watching some YouTube videos on flat earthers (SciManDan, Professor Dave Explains, etc) and I'm totally blown away by the stupidity of these people. Their arguments are so incredibly stupid that I'm starting to wonder if these people are actually serious, or are just trying to get attention. I mean seriously... "The earth is flat and the sun, the moon and the stars are lights on a dome"? "Gravity does not exist"?

Are there any flat earthers here?

No, gravity does NOT exist.

The truth is, we stay put because the world sucks.

I don't think any of it is really legitimate (in that, I don't think any of them really believe it)... but they get tons and tons of views for their videos... and that leads to an income.

I make videos / monetize on YouTube. I started a YouTube channel where I rebuild / repair watches. I only have maybe ~45 videos I think? And I get about $75-80 a month. I only have 1,500 subscribers, and it was really an afterthought... the point of the videos initially was just to increase traffic to my eBay auctions. I haven't fixed a watch in over a year, but I'm still bringing in about $75 a month from the old videos I've made.

So... the point being is that people don't realize how much money these videos bring in. A SINGLE video that gets only 30k views annually can net about $50 a month. If the video you're watching has millions of views... that guy is probably bringing in hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month. So this is why many of these people do these things.

I think (at least I hope) most of them are just having fun. However, there are those who believe men can give birth, so I am sure there are a few honest flat-earthers.

I challenge you to find one picture of the Earth that’s not flat… 😜

They are dead serious. They even have yearly conventions. Here's an older article that discusses this phenomena.

One of the videos I've uploaded to YouTube has had (at last count) 4,620,711 views! I'm not kidding. However, it's also not monetized... so I haven't made a nickel off of it. It's amazing though how when a video goes viral, the views really pile up.

Everyone has their beliefs....some are based in fact....some based in arrogant ignorance.

If the earth was flat cats would have pushed everything off it by now.
