Read it, THEN watch it.

In that order. (that's an order!)

Should be a "fun ride"

good so far

-end of line

Neither. (Sorry, the link in my first post didn't paste... ) "The Peripheral" - by William Gibson.

"Flynn" is one of the characters.
It's been years since I read the book, but I recall it was unique in that for the initial chunk of the book, you aren't 100% sure what the heck is going on... then you have an "oooooh!" moment. I remember at the time, folks reviewing it even mentioned the exact page number...
It's an interesting concept, IMO.

I've watched a couple episodes of it. I don't love or hate it.

Almost 100% won't read the books. I have a long list of literature in que.

The "oooooh" moment is known to you, so it would be like 141 pages of already knowing what's going on. The book's different, though. but probably not worth the read if you already watched the miniseries.

That I think would've been a good read. 140 pages to care about the characters. I already picked a side based upon medicine. My loyalty would absolutely been for sale in that situation. Glad it is at least meeting your expectations since you've already put the time in with the books.

Cheryl Eddy, io9: The Peripheral introduces this complex world that, at times, even the characters who are pulling the strings don’t even fully understand. At one point someone even says, “It can be rather confusing even for us.” What approach did you take in trying to translate that to the screen so the audience wouldn’t be left feeling the same?

Scott Smith: A lot of long Zoom sessions were involved [laughs]. I think one thing I’ve always loved about Gibson’s work is that it’s not very accessible, and he draws on the reader’s intelligence to build the world. You have to watch how the characters use the terms and you gradually pick it up through that. We wanted that to be similar to the viewing experience—but at the same time, we knew that we couldn’t go too far with that without people just giving up in confusion."
