"Exclusive: We Tasted The World's First Cultivated Steak, No Cows Required"

That's the banner above a new article from Time. These images are from that article.

Photograph from the end of last year (December, 2021) in The Hill.

This cultivated steak was from a company that emerged in Israel called "MeaTech 3D", which is now known as Steakholder Foods, Ltd.

So how did the reporter(s) at Time grade the cultivated steak that they tried? Did they like it, and how much did they like it?

I don't know. Time wants me to register to be able to read it online. It says "free", but I'm suspicious. So I haven't registered.

There are a number of videos that are posted on YouTube about cultivated steak.

I doubt they will fare any better than these folks.

Especially not if their 'beef' is made in part from chicken fat.
(it is)

The picture of the alleged 'steak' doesn't even look like steak, much less appear appealing.

And then, there's this:

Just eat a damn steak. (or DON'T) This whole "global climate change is caused by cows" stuff is ridiculous.Treat the animals kindly, till their final "not-so-swell" day. It's disgusting and pathetic how much stuff has been twisted. But adhering to a few simple rules isn't a terrible thing -->The less ingredients something has, the better.

This steak-like product involves something like (if not exactly) 3D Printing.

I had a fake meat burger the other day and I must say it tasted really, really good. I mean, this was not a pre-prepared burger which was spiced up in such a way that even **** would taste good; I got the patties and had to bake the burger myself. The end result was a tasteful, juicy burger. In fact, at the time I labeled it as one of the best burgers I ever made myself.

I love red meat, but every time I eat it, my body reacts in such a way that it feels like it's using all its energy to metabolize it. In other words, every time I eat red meat, I feel like crap. This time none of that. So I'm all for it.

Hello Cliff,

Just to be sure, this cultivated steak that I've put on display here is not vegan or vegetarian. This is made by culturing of animal cells taken from beef cattle. It's "beef without the cattle." It's not a plant-based alternative to beef.

To tell the truth, my main motivation for posting this was to have an excuse for going online with "Do you want steak with good taste (i.e., "cultivated") or steak that tastes good?"

It's a remembrance of the old (very old) StarKist-branded canned tunafish advertising mascot, "Charlie the Tuna".

There IS a disease or illness (alpha-gal) which I believe is tick transmitted that causes a mild to serious reaction to eating any red meat. Beef, pok, lamb organ meat.
