Google has agreed to a $391.5 million settlement with 40 states — including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut — in connection with an investigation into how the company tracked users’ locations, state attorneys general announced Monday, calling it the largest multistate privacy settlement in U.S history.

That's on top of Samsung and others tracking you before you install more crap. Apple is no diff. Current Buttons Say don't track only applies to some 3rd parties using Apple Store. Apple still tracks and give or sell to many others.
Worse is Google, Apple and some others use the "Cloud Storage" to scan everything and cancel an account and forward to cops for anything scanners think is illegal. So don't store images and video to your cloud.
