William, this is the Off Topic (non-Fiero) section of the forum. You'd no doubt get the attention of more Fiero gearheads if you post in Technical Discussion & Questions.

Hi Will... curious how you were able to do this. Do you have any pictures? Were you able to keep the Holley throttle body, or did you simply convert the entire upper-end (plenum, TBI, etc.) and install a new fuel injection system?

Personally, I'm not really a fan of drive by wire... at least not so much in the early days. When it was first mandated in 2006, I had issues with it on my Pontiac Solstice. There was always a lag / nanny control aspect to it.

Is little or no benefit doing this for old cars. 99+% don't bother because too tech etc so post in Technical Discussion & Questions won't help.

Toyota and more have many Recalls and Lawsuits just for DbW throttles costing Millions of $ just in USA. That's why Toyota squash data to NHTSA to avoid a Recall years back for "run away" cars w/ bad DbW gas pedal assemblies.

DIY doing "Drive by Wire" for anything better get a lawyer fast when it fails. Car Insurance that can Void any Policy for DIY and other "upgrades" when investigating a crash. Even when they don't, in many places people can sue and very likely win using your "upgrades" as evidence.

Technically, my Fiero is drive by wire, because it is EV powered. Although mechanically; steering, braking, suspension and etc is all original factory stock for the most part.

Accelerator is hall-effect pedal. Gear box controlled by an electronic switch.

Can't fix it on the side of the road. Had an SUV go into limp mode on the highway, not fun. Had to replace the entire throttle body as it was all integrated. $300 later and I still wouldn't trust it.

even carburetors can leave you stranded..cars now are pretty reliable compared to 30 years ago.

geez...no disrespect to your build, but wow people are right to say not to build the 2.8. all that for essentially just 100ft/lb of torque.
