quote
Raquel Welch, a veteran actress who rose to fame in the 1960s in the films “One Million Years B.C.” and “Fantastic Voyage,” has died, according to a statement provided by her manager, Steve Sauer.

She was 82.

Thank you, Ms. Welch. For confirming my sexual orientation, if nothing else. Parents took us to see "Fantastic Voyage" when I was nine years old.

I forgot about "Fantastic Voyage". I always think of her in "Kansas City Bomber"

and "The Magic Christian"

This could shiver me timbers....

But just think, in a few weeks, be nothing but worms, bones and necrophagous beetles........

I have a DVD of Fantastic Voyage....I remember conning my parents into letting me stay up to watch the whole movie on TV (probably around 1968-70)

I admit that I was not really watching Ms. Welch back then...I had a few years before I would....develop that interest...

A woman who was genetically blessed with her fantastic looks as well as blessed with a moral compass that never failed her.

When she was 75 years old she was asked in an interview why she never posed nude.

She said: “I am my father’s daughter and that’s just not the way you behave. You don’t do that if you are a certain kind of a woman and that’s the kind of woman I was raised to be."

Classy and, unfortunately now, increasingly rare.
