Vintage Chilton Repair Manuals... anyone want them? (Page 1/1)

Guys, I have about 6 or 7 vintage Chilton's repair manuals. They are very old books, and it was before Chiltons started making books for individual cars. These books are from the 1930s and 1940s, and have names like Packard, DeSoto, Nash, and others inside of them. They were shop manuals for garages to determine pricing for hours and other things.

I've been carrying them around with me for two decades now... they came with my first house that I bought in Fort Lauderdale back in 2003. The original owner had died back in 1995, after retiring from auto mechanics. He owned his own garage in New York, and retired in the 70s after working some 40 years, and then moved to Florida and eventually bought a new house (my house) in 1987.

When I bought the house, his old 1967 Camaro 327 RS was in there also. They wouldn't sell it, but apparently did nothing with it. It was a convertible, and they basically parked it behind a warehouse where it was picked over by vandals and eventually rusted away and crushed. I was offering $3,500. Sigh...

Anyway, I don't forsee I'll ever own a DeSoto, Nash, or whatever else... and honestly, even if I did... I just don't want this stuff anymore. I'm happy to give them away for free, but shipping is going to be like close to $80 bucks. If anyone wants them, let me know... otherwise I'll probably donate them. I'll wait a week or so for people to respond.

Thanks!

Well, I don't need any of those manuals but, I am willing to send someone these items if they pay for shipping plus $1.00. There are three items in the picture, a key fob thing with a metal do-hickey for checking your codes, a poster and a mouse pad.

I actually have two of the posters, they will both go to whoever wants them. No longer have a Fiero so, these don't do me any good. If no one wants them then they go into the trash.

Todd, not trying to hijack your thread but, seemed like a good place to get that message out.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun.........

I guess I don't really need them, but in my youth, I've worked on each of those brands in my father's auto shop, as well as Studebaker, Plymouth, Rambler, Kaiser and Hudson. I was a flathead whiz by the time I was 15 and the next year, brother and I completely rebuilt a Pontiac straight 8 out of a '53 Chieftain.
I know what this is and have rebuilt one. (there's a spring missing from this one)

I honestly didn't know if anyone would want these posters and the other stuff but thought I would ask, just in case. Tomorrow is trash day, by noon, they'll be in the dump.
The funny thing is, those posters were rolled up in a sleeve and I had never even gotten them out. My BIL, who was a Pontiac Dealer's Sales Manager gave them to me (long ago)

Please don't dump them. Any neat Fiero stuff. DM me or whatever...my son (or ME) would put these to "good use"

I'm sure my son would love the Fiero mousepad

xoxo
