iPhone YouTube streaming through my car stereo problem (Page 1/1)

Hi all, here’s my problem:
I like to stream YouTube content from my IPhone 7 through my car stereo. About a week ago I started getting sound only out of one speaker. Strangely, when I play my car stereo, sound comes out of both speakers and it sounds fine. As an fyi I have a newer (early 2000’s) Pioneer Stereo/ CD with a USB port and an auxiliary jack in the front face. The auxiliary jack is where I connect my IPhone in to. Anyways, is this an IPhone issue or a cable connection issue? Any test I can perform to narrow down the problem?
Thanks, Kit

Have you no other device you can plug into the auxiliary jack on the car stereo for testing purposes? Or conversely, plug headphones into the IPhone and see if both audio channels are working?

Double what Patrick said plus….are you using a 1/8 plug out of the iPhone or lightning jack. Many times these get plugged up with lint and crap from your pockets.

Thanks guys for the comments. I’m using a Lightning to 1/4 inch plug/jack going in to the aux port in front of the car stereo.
Update: I was playing with my wiring going to my rear speakers and I found the problem. Behind my seats I have some Radio Shack Minimus 7’s. (They are really home stereo speakers) Anyways, the connectors on the back of the speakers are the spring-loaded type and one of the wires was not pushed in far enough to stay properly anchored. After fixing this issue my IPhone now plays back in both speakers now😀
So in summary, it was neither a phone nor cable connection issue.
Thank you all!
Kit

Ummm... so Kit, you're telling us that you didn't even try the car radio before seeking assistance with this "issue"?
