I've got this method of doing project upholstered peices.

I make the frame or base from plywood, use 1/2 and 1/4 sliced pool noodles for nice round edges, then fill with cussion foam. Works and looks great one the linen and leather are on it.

So I go the store this morning looking for some 1.5 foam. They dont have any, but do have a pile of 24x24x5" thick chunks.

OK, I can make this work. It's easier than going to "big city" to try another store. So I grab a couple of those, get home, put some 1.5 angle iron on the workbench for guide rails, then head to the kitchen for the electric carving knife.

Worked GREAT. An hour later I have a nice big pile of 5"x24"x1.5" upholstery foam.

I ALSO have a carving knife so dull it will no longer even cut warm butter. With a slightly smoking motor. OOOpppppppssssssss

Wonder where I can find the exact same circa 1974 Sunbeam before the demon wife finds out.
