In the spirit of Hermes, the classical Greek god of commerce, this forum post pays hommage (homage) to "Lucky Strike" cigarettes, a famous "smoke" in the history of cigarettes, which is still being sold today.

I found a picture online years ago of an eruption in south America with a lot of lightning....The pic is "Apocalyptic"...
I imagine waking in the middle of the night to some sounds (Rumbles of volcanic origin and thunder) and opening the drapes....."Oh- it's the end of the world...ummmm...Aiyeeeeeee!"[This message has been edited by cvxjet (edited 03-30-2023).]

How should mankind harness the free energy phenomenon such as that ? Would we manipulate nature to generate electrical energy in a useful form ? Imagining a gigantic horizontal turbine disk, whirling away in the tornado's vortice, converting to angular momentum. Science fiction to the naysayers, ' That's impossible ! ' ' My name is Don Quixote, I charge at windmills ! ' The Lightning People Zap ! Ka-Boom !
How BenFranklin didn't get zapped is an amazing probability. ' Whatta you mean the keys glowed ? '

Ben Franklin could not have seen the brief upward discharge from the lighting rod that attracts the storm lightning. But you can see it in the photograph. It all happens within a millisecond. The Brazilian researchers were able to photograph this attractor discharge with high speed cameras.

A family member did just that, heard the really loud boom, went to the door, and there it was, a volcano erupting ! Fuego
That lightning and ash photo looks to me like some fantastic science fiction monster come alive, and no doubt that is what ancient indigenous cultures believed, so then, their pagan deities were all giants. Obsidian Villarrica National Park More photos...
