This is about the Texas Rangers. Thanks Lord and bless them.
The Texas Rangers were formed before Texas Independence. Before the battle of the Alamo. The Texas Rangers have a long and storied history.
The Immortal 32.
They were the only people from, Gonzales TX, who answered the call for help as the Alamo was under assault. They made it in there and died for the freedom of Texas.
The Texas Rangers. An admired and respected law enforcement agency throughout the United States !

I honestly have to say that I read the first two sentences and before I could read beyond that, I was thinking of Major League Baseball's American League franchise, the Texas Rangers. And I was wondering why "32" when a more common reference would be the 40-Man Roster? I kid you not.
Is today's calendar date of May 4 significant in some way in the history of the non-baseball Texas Rangers?

Not always, and not everyone feels that way. They had a very dark side as well.

In the end, a hero.
A great listen, the water moccasin part real gnarly. We can only remark on the past, viewed through our eyes, great horrors have been done. Not like we can go back in time to change things to our liking, likely get shot for being so strange, another forgotten casualty of the brutality of the Old West, a faded plank in a cemetery on Boot Hill.

Ah yes. The "kick azz and take names later" days. All law enforcement have never been lily clean.
Today, they are revered as the ultimate professionals. They have a good history. To the South of me is a town called Bigfoot Texas.
Named after a famous Texas Ranger who took part in many of the military conflicts of the Republic of Texas and the United States in the 1840s, including the Mexican–American War.

That is but one of many bad deeds carried out by the Rangers during the same period. Some estimates put the total of out right murders by Rangers down on the border at around 500.

That is invaluable insight to know. Thanks.
Tomorrow, in Center Point TX, the TX Rangers are having a celebration. At the cemetery. It is said that more Texas Rangers are buried there, than anywhere else. I am unsure why tomorrow is the day to hold it.
