How do PFFers. If there are any motorboikers amongst you, I could do with a hand please.
I have a spark plug type "mr8l 9" ngk. I cannot find this plug at all in the UK.... Or even on the NGK website!!
I know it's fitted as standard to a 2 years old Harley(sorry I don't know the model, it's big and black).....as I am holding one in my hand! (The plug not the Harley).
Has anyone heard of this plug spec or know where to get them pleasey?

Fortunately, it's not a Champion spark plug.*

Do you have a Harley dealer nearby? For a 2-year old bike I would get OEM plugs, for older carb bikes I have actually mixed heat ranges to get the front cylinder to match the rear. That takes a lot of time in front of spark plug catalogue books to find the various heat ranges to try.

Two or three years ago, H-D made five very different V-twin engines.
-Milwaukee 8 - The "Big Twin" with four plugs -V-rod - a water cooled hot rod -Evo Sporty - air cooled design that has been in production for decades -Revolution Max - the replacement for the Sporty, also used in their adventure bike. -H-D Street - a small(ish) water cooled V-twin (I think maybe three people bought these)
A picture or model number would help.

Thanks very much for all of the input. Not chumpion Patrick ʘ‿ʘ
I think this is going to be a Harley dealer only thing, which isn't so common here. This is someone elses problem, I said i would mention it here as thought some of you chaps would know.
I dont know the model but now know its the Milwaukee 8 enjun that WG mentioned.
Thanks again.
If anyone knows a cross reference of this part or a UK available supplier please lemme know.

Here are a couple of links: https://www.hogparts.co.uk/ https://estore.chester-harley-davidson.co.uk/
If it were me, I would try the one that is not a dealer, first.
The independent supplier has pics of motorcycles, while the "official" dealer has picks of T-shirts. I love old Harleys, but the MoCo has become a boutique.[This message has been edited by williegoat (edited 05-16-2023).]

LOL....
Lots easier to sell a $20 t-shirt than a $20K bike. Cheaper product, bigger market.
1/2 the people I see wearing H-D "fashion" have never been closer than 5 feet to 2 wheels.

Don't know if this helps or if it even correct. I just assumed this would be the coding system.

Thanks again. I have emailed the first linky dink WG sent with hopes they have summat.
From the decoder we make the plug numbers
M - Compact
R - Resistor type
8 - Heat range hot to cold, so fairly cold
L - 11.2mm thread length
9 -0.036" gap
Just gotta find some now!

Okay, due to (lack of) popular demand , I want to explain my post.
Way back in PFF history, the year 2000 to be exact, a thread was started entitled... Spark Plugs
It started off innocently enough, but quickly got out of hand. IMO, it's worthwhile reading the entire two page thread to get a handle on how and why it went sideways. However, the highlight of the thread was probably this following post... by stimpy.
PFF member stimpy went by various names here, mostly because he kept getting banned. He could be a very funny guy (...but he could unfortunately also not be so funny).
Anyway, without further ado...

I suppose the list could go on infnitely because I wouldn't stick anything in my dogs ass.
I'm sure Mr. Wolf will adamantly go forth about the benefits of sticking things in the ass, it is a personal choice and one should not feel pressured to stick things in the ass, either their own or of their canine companion. I can merely relate the lack of success I personally have had with sticking things in my dogs ass. I may not have the knowledge and technique of Mr. Wolf (wow, stick Lenny up your dogs ass! and he's a pretty big fella. You must spend a LOT of time training your dog to accept large items rectally) but the best I've ever seen is suppositories at the vet.
Well, anyway, have a really Nice Day everybody!

And that's why the mere mention of Champion spark plugs used to elicit a chuckle or two here. [This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 05-18-2023).]
