I was talking to a guy the other day who bought a new Ebike. It is a Momentum brand.
He said it was made in Canada. Is that right?

Yup. There are actually more small companies here putting them together than you can shake a stick at. The past few years it has gone WAY beyond a few guys screwing around in the garage into a real industry.

Here is the latest EV toy around here. Right now it's sitting at 55ah/24v with a 50km range (factory spec). Good for maybe 7-8 mph. BAH !! It's got enough room, so I'll go 36v35aH and ungovern the new controller which should give it around 20-25km at 20 or so mph. Not great but Kim wants to keep and drive it so I have to stay sorta-sane and not flip-it-in-the-corners crazy.
Already got the road tunes installed (HEY, priorities ). That thing above the panel is a motorcycle stereo. Ugly seat is going and I'll install a comfy gaming racing-style chair on the mount. Then it gets the "Little Tykes" treatment. Fun to play with, and about 7k cheaper than just buying one of the electric micro-cars, but still a limited-range, no-cargo useless toy. Good for grabbing a coffee, pizza or 6-pack and thats about it.
