I think that the inability to speak with a person when you are put in Facebook jail, or banned is a real issue that could easily be solved. I know 50k is nothing to them, but perhaps if enough people use cases like this to push for a little decency from the company it would change things. Probably won't do anything, but it's worth a try.

Now I hope the ambulance chasers to hop in and really screw things up for FB.

I've been temporarily banned from FB many times. Most of those times were for things that weren't bad, or responding to someone that said something horrible. (I got banned once for responding to a person saying all "Trumpsters" should be murdered with "Man, if we called for the murder of lefties we'd be in jail." Instant 90 day ban.) There is no recourse, and no reason behind most of it.

I'm actually on my 4th FB account. The other 3 were perma-banned over memes I found on facebook and reposted

Idiots.

Folks used to complain about some companies having terrible support. Most of these Social Media companies have ZERO support.

Have an issue with you account or your data in YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.? GOOD LUCK.

We stopped 'having a presence' on most of them after a few serious situations came up with some of our friends and the platforms did nothing to resolve them.

I realize its a monumental task to try to 'police' a platform with millions of users, but its something they need to address...

So he "Won..."

Don't count they will ever pay Or that He's done after the Default Judgement.

FB and most will spend Millions to use the Courts to Bury any case against them.

Even if FB does nothing...
FB may have no property in GA to seize it to "Sheriff Sale" to recover the judgement and related fees.

Not that I give an eff about FB, but it's simple to get banned, and I've never won an appesl. I made a stupid joke about a guy named Woz with a reference to Apple once that didn't "click" and was banned and kicked from a group. You really have no recourse. I've since quit just because I'm trying to use less of my life on such things. it's frustrating, though.

Facebook will be required to pay. They likely haven't paid because they either just don't care or hope they'll forget.

The important thing here, more so than all of this... is realizing how important tort law is. I used to feel really strongly about tort law, and believed we needed tort reform. I often thought it was ridiculous that a woman could win a 2.9 million dollar judgement for burning herself with coffee. I realize there's a bit more to that case, and while I still hold that the judgement was excessive ... I view tort law in the same way that I view the 2nd Amendment ... like, almost completely.

Bad guys will get guns no matter what, but allowing good people (legal citizens) to also carry guns ... EVEN IF I DON'T, ensures that I'm just a little bit safer.

... same with TORT law.

Companies can and will always try to get away with things. But when an individual has the power to sue a person or corporation to demand redress, that protects not only them, but everyone else from future negligence or poor behavior.

I don't like ambulance chasers... but the people telling me that we need tort reform are corporations. I really do like corporations, I mean that... it's very apropos considering that we're on a Dutch website and the "corporation" was a concept created by the Dutch. But like with everyone else, society needs a series of checks and balances for entities of power. So never let anyone tell you that we need tort reform, because you don't want to ever give up your rights, even if you don't intend to use them.

I got banned by Facebook once for "inciting violence against others".. lmao..

I was in an Elden Ring discussion group. We were discussing strategies for defeating one of the end game bosses. The fire Giant..

I responded in the topic. "Run up under the Fire Giant, and attack his feet"...

Got banned for inciting violence against others.. lol..

In my appeal messaged i wrote..

"We were discussing strategies for fighting a boss in a video game. But i want to apologize to any ancient fire giants that may work at facebook that i may have offended"..

Yeah i had to wait out the ban.. lol..

Hilarious.

But you probably just offended a bot, that didn't have a sense of humor - or irony.
