I wanted to, but his mother would have been mad and then I would have had to run to the fridge for my own beer.

I also failed to realize this was a tribute thread to Alan Arkin.
One of my all-time favorite movies is Little Miss Sunshine, and he was awesome in that.
Also liked him in a lesser known film The In-Laws, with peter faulk.

Two of his movies; "Escape from Sobibor" and "The Rocketeer"....the last is one of my favorite movies;
I am an aircraft fanatic...Grew up around aircraft- My father worked on aircraft at NARF (NAS) Alameda....I went to see "The Rocketeer" in the theater when it came out...beginning of movie involves a Gee Bee racing plane (Looks like a barrel with wings) I "Knew" that they had all been retired/crashed so I "Knew" that this was just a movie mock-up and would not actually fly but just taxi around on the runway....Then it took off (Obviously NOT special effects) and I STOOD UP in the theater- in total shock....people behind me told me to sit down and so I did...
Later, I read an article about a guy who decided to make a replica with some mods....
And Alan Arkin has a very important (Main) roll and does a fantastic job.
