Of late (meaning recently) the logitech wireless mouse I use on my laptop has been giving me problems. 1. A left click appears to act as a double click. It often (but not always) highlights an entire word or even a whole sentence instead of just moving the cursor. I just left clicked on the word 'double' and it highlighted it instead of moving the cursor to between the letter 'o' and 'u'.
2. It's really aggravating when closing out a tab window if I have more than one open. It will 'x' or close out the visible window, but almost instantaneously also closes out the window or tab behind that one as well because both 'x' are one behind the other.
3. If using the touch pad on the laptop, there doesn't seem to be a problem.
I have a brand new wireless rodent in the package but am wondering if it truly is a hardware problem or do I have something else going on..even wondering now, if my fingers are doing something I'm not aware of.

I had the exact same issue with 2 of my Logitech marble mice and yes, it was the left button or it's circuit board. It would double click at random and got worse over the following weeks. If I used the scroll bar on the right of the screen and accidentally hover over the "x", it would close the web page. VERY annoying. I replaced it and have zero issues now.
