A few questions for those who are using or have used PC Matic Anti-Virus.
How does it compare to other anti-virus software, in particular, McAfee?
Their TV ads say $50 for one year. Is that just for the first year or for all renewals?
Have you experienced problems with Windows Defender or other software and apps while using PC Matic?

You don't pay a yearly renewal? Does it automatically update to the current version? If I don't renew my McAfee, the old version remains but without updates.

I have a license, might be for 5 devices. Anyway, I must be from 'the slow class' because I have to pay Every Year (the same amount.)
They are offering a VPN now but that is extra ...

Yes, I think their tv ad says up to 5 devices. The cost is $50 'for a year'. That phrase was what I was wondering if it was a gotcha. Get you on it at an introductory of $50 then hit you with a much higher price in the following years. I expect it will entail a yearly renewal fee and I'm fine with that. It's cheaper than the McAfee yearly fee. I really have no issue with the McAfee Anti-Virus performance, but it's the cost.

They were running some lifetime special during covid, I think it was 50$. Doesnt work offline tho. I like it, doesnt slow my computer down like other anti virus software.

I just had an automatic renewal of McAfee the early part of the year. I'm going to turn off that renewal and will probably go with PC Matic next year. McAfee covers 5 devices, but I can't download it on one of them. On another, I can't use the junk file cleanup feature. Click Clean Up and it doesn't even clock.
