Transferring / downloading from an IPhone 7 to a Zen Stone (Page 1/1) |

Here is what I want to do……., One of my favorite “toys” in the whole world is my Creative Labs Zen Stone. It’s a small MP3 player that has an external speaker and a small belt clip. As you know, most MP3 players do not have external speakers. The Stone does and it is quite handy listening to old radio shows while working around the house, doing projects, etc. I like to clip it to the underside of my hat, making it truly “hands-free”. 😀 That being said, I sometimes listen to old radio shows on Archive.org and I would love to transfer some of the radio shows from this website to my Stone. I do not have a desktop pc nor an internet connection at home. What I do have is an old Dell Laptop (with a Creative Lab software program on it - needed to transfer and delete files to and from my Stone) and a “company” cell phone. (aka IPhone 7)
Is it possible to transfer/ download these old radio shows from my IPhone to my laptop so that I can get new content into my Stone through my Creative Lab software? Thanks, Kit

If all three hardware items have USB, and the files are indeed MP3, I don't see why it wouldn't be simple enough to transfer the files.
Does the IPhone 7 have a USB port?
[EDIT] Maybe all you need is a lightning port to USB adapter.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 09-03-2023).]

Can you simply use your phone as a hotspot, link up your laptop to the wifi, and go to the website from the laptop to download the shows? That way you don't need to transfer anything, just download right to the laptop via the website.

I was wondering why he doesn't simply bypass the phone completely and just connect the laptop to the internet.
[EDIT] Answered my own question...

The IPhone 7 has a lightning jack but no USB. To be honest Imsa, your suggestion seems a bit complicated to me. To my shame, I know next to nothing about wi-fi and hotspots. Heck, I can barely download an App. 😕 Kit

The simplest solution is to take your laptop to a friend's house who has the internet, plug in an ethernet cable, and download a whole bunch of these old radio shows that you're interested in.[This message has been edited by Patrick (edited 09-03-2023).]

Thanks for all the replies! I will see what I can do about finding a friends house to go to. (I don’t get out of the house too much other than going to work) 😕 Kit

Lightning to USB is super common. I have 2 or 3 and don't own an iAnything. Will your laptop not see it as USB drive? I'm assuming you can download them too your phone.
