Anybody got a trick for removing silicone residue from glass ? I have a piece I salvaged from an old aquarium that is the perfect size for a project I am working on (laser engraver enclosure) but even after razor-blade scraping there is still residue left. I dont really want to scratch it up so steel wool is out.
On the engraver itself, I finally decided on the Two Trees TTS-55 with the 610x610 extension kit. Big enough to do anything I could want now, and easy to swap out the laser head for more power if needed in the future.
As to why have you guys seen what they want for a hunk of fabric and vinyl ? Screw that, I can make a metal one for under $25.[This message has been edited by MidEngineManiac (edited 09-10-2023).]

Just bought 5 yards (15' x 54") of outdoor fabric and it cost me right at $40.

Alcohol, Goo Gone, and Acetone, in that order. If those don't work, it isn't coming off.

Aquarium glass has Fish Safe version of RTV sealant & resist most chemicals. Good luck removing w/o damage to the glass or you when chemicals get on on you.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
