1908 Steam Engine that pumped water for Woburn, Mass. Sat dormant for 91 years, still preserved, still runs, would happily still do it's job. Amazing piece of machinery, amazing guy who got it started again.

Oh man, this is a fantastic video. I also really like "The Proper People" videos... but this one is excellent. I've worked with a lot of people like Alex in this video. They're unique people that aren't always well understood, very driven, very intelligent, but often misunderstood. So glad he was able to find and restore this. I'm a huge fan of history... and it always pains me when we as a society forget our progress (or take it for granted). Old buildings, old technology, whenever possible, we need to save things like this. I realize that not every city needs to save their 1830s water pump... and I recognize that these things do cost money for maintenance... but whenever possible... we do want to save our history.
