Hey guys, I have a normal OBD2 reader that I've had for almost a decade. I recently bought a fancy one that was supposed to read ABS codes, but it does a **** job. Apparently there was a higher version that provides more information, including logging. I know I can get a data cable... but I'm not really interested in that.
Any recommendations for a really good / top of the line OBD2 scanner?
Long story short, my 2009 Ford Explorer dings every 5 minutes because it says there's a problem with the ABS. I mostly ignored it because I rarely drive, but it is wearing on me. In that time, I've had to replace both wheel hubs (as a result of the bearings starting to go out from me sitting). I just did a brake job, and TODAY... I just replaced the rear-passenger caliper that was sticking. I had to get it rush-ordered from Amazon.
I'd like to figure out what the heck is going on with the ABS, and neither of the OBD2 scanners I have can really read the codes. One says it does ABS, but it only tells me there's a problem but doesn't say what (useless).
Note, I've replaced all four ABS sensors, and the gear is good... but pointless if I don't know what it's bitching about. Thanks!
