This setup is in the used truck I bought. It appears to do nothing and I haven't yet checked it for voltage. Hard to see, but right under it is a plastic 'holder' of some sort. Too small to hold a flip phone even. The jack looks a bit like a big usb but definitely is not. Location is down kinda low on the dash, and to the left of the steering column, but within easy reach of the driver.. It's my understanding, that at one time this was a fleet truck for some kind of business near KC Missouri if that helps Guesses? (not a contest..I have no idea)

You have to check the plug(s) & switch.

Switch may not have anything to do w/ others, worse switch could be wired to some lights that blink etc & often illegal for you to use on the street.
Or not wired now & have "loose ends" can short out.

Might have gone to a light bar (think yellow caution lights or strobes), or some sort of trailer brake controller.
