Happy Thanksgiving....And I'm gettin' some popcorn for my turkey tomorrow morning!

12-13 years ago I drove Mines road, which is a windy road through hills between Livermore and San Jose- all farm and ranch land- I have taken a number of people up there and they are amazed something like that is so near the bay area.

On this trip I was by myself in the Fiero- it was in the spring and there were fields of flowers, green rolling hills, and creeks really flowing- including one stream running across the road...I stopped to take a pic of a small waterfall, and when I walked back to the car, I spotted a Full-on Tom Turkey strutting his stuff...when I took a pic of him he started towards me- I ran back to the car and took off.

Seven miles farther down the road I almost ran over four female turkeys crossing the road- and then I realized that >>Tommy<< just wanted a ride to where the ladies were at!
