I know I purchased a do it yourself poster frame years ago at one of the big box stores (Walmart or Hobby Lobby type place) decades ago, but I can't find anything that isn't already a set size right now.
As I remember (and my memory is horrible), the one I purchased years ago was a few pieces of plastic trim that you cut to the length you needed and slipped the poster into the plastic in grooves and could (barely) add cardboard behind it. There were some corner pieces that were supposed to fit on the corners, but I ended up just taping it all up.
Anyone know where I can find such a thing? I've got several posters of odd sizes that need a frame. I've considered wandering through Home Depot and looking at plastic trim pieces.
Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas, Brad

or the frame can damage your poster

If you have a miter box saw it is very simple to make wooden frames from molding/trim. Especially if you don't need them heavy enough to hold glass.

Don't know if you can still buy them but I have a set of 4 Craftsman frame makers that have thumb screws to hold the 4 pieces together square whie you make the cuts and glue or otherwise fasten the corners together. Work with any size wood up to 1 1/2" thick. Cut the pieces, then run each one down a table saw to accept the glass and paper backer, then put them back in the frame and do your glue up, tho you can cut the glass groove first. Mine are aluminum, but they would probably be plastique nowadays.
