There's a small Amish community just North of here and Jane and I drove thru it last night to look at the Christmas decorations. The lights were AWSOME but I only got a few pictures.

back home, got mine up before Dec1.

and the 30 year old needle bare tree is up and all aglow.

Same here. My neighbor across the street had a giant inflatable black cat for Halloween whose head swiveled back and forth and eyes shined red. For Christmas, a big inflatable Santa and 2 of those light projectors that shower his house with different snowflake and starlight patterns. Takes him about 20 minutes every year to set it up...maybe I should do the same...but,

I prefer old school, with hand painted plywood cutouts, and strings of lights, tho I have only made a few cutouts since being here. I did tho, get with the program, threw out all my incandescents and everything is Led now, and on simple timers.
I've been buying different strings of them on sale after each Christmas even before I sold my last place and even after fully doing the eaves, still have about a dozen boxes of lights and big spools of lights stored in a big plastic tote.

Almost all, I put up without a ladder but not sure how much longer I can do it with my 73 year old shoulders.
I 'might' make an easy to put up outside lighted tree next Christmas, but I'm borderline too gaudy already.

I refuse to climb on top of the roof tho. I fall gracefully but land badly.

Hahaha... damn, I feel so dumb. I refreshed like three times and was going to ask why the images weren't loading properly... oh man, that was a good one MJ.

Glad you guys are having a nice Christmas. Hopefully you've enjoyed your time in the snow enough in the past that you don't miss having it now!

Back in 2018 (When I was still "healthy") I sent a message to my friends and family; "I sweated- worked very hard- and finally was able to get all of my Christmas decorations up- don't know if I'll be able to do this much next year..."
