Look up a channel called "I Do Cars". The owner (Eric) is an auto recycler, and does a post-mortem on a different (usually blown-up) engine every week. The guy is very entertaining, as well as being a very good mechanic.

Scotty Kilmer is a retired auto mechanic. I don't watch him because he always seems to be overly mad about something. Plus, his opinion seems to change fairly regularly. One day Toyotas are the worst cars in the world and the next they're the best thing since sliced bread.
I'm a huge fan of I Do Cars. I subscribed originally for the engine teardowns but some of Erics repair videos (mostly Miatas, of which Eric seems to be a HUGE fan, BMWs and MBs) Are pretty interesting. He's humorous and really seems to know what he's doing. Even when he says he's not familiar with a certain engine he's tearing down, he still seems to know what most of the parts are and how they come apart (sometimes with the help of Blue, his trusty blue handled pry bar).

Scotty is the poster child for the most obnoxious click-bait titles. Look how many times he's had titles such as "I'm being shut down!" or "I'm dying" etc, etc. and yet none of that ever happens.
Another annoying channel is the "Car Wizard" who typically goes on and on about some car has issues caused by neglect from its owner and from previous incompetent mechanics, then he proceeds to fix it (off camera of course) and then enlightens us as to how he's the only one competent enough to diagnose and fix it properly. He's very arrogant but he does have a lot of fans.
I like Eric at "I Do Cars", and the other Eric at South Main Auto, and Alex at Legit Street Cars. I have met the latter and he is just as personable in person as on the videos.

Thank you! I'm happy that it's not just me (regarding Scotty and Car Wizard). They seem like the type you would either love or hate. I'll have to check out Legit Street Cars. I'm familiar with the other two, who you mentioned that you liked. I agree.

Yep, can't stand either of those guys either.
Legit Street Cars is great. He also had a Fiero video. I think they all have had one. As is Rat Rods For Africa. (Though it's more along the rat rod fabrication stuff, and not fixing modern vehicles.) And of course VGG.

Heh, just realized I really never listened to more than about 30 seconds or so of his stuff other than the Fiero one and one or two others regarding EVs and CVTs (Nissan CVT garbage).
His latest one's title: "I'm Shutting Down the Scotty Kilmer Channels" <-- liar!
