Best ''Opening scene'' to a ''Fun'' movie? (Page 1/2)

Ten seconds in, you KNOW you are in for a fun ride... 40 seconds when they paste up the title, there remains NO doubt...

Hope humanity is able to get back to this sort of stuff...

One of my favorite openings is from "Hellzapoppin". Overall the movie is not great, but it does have some great moments.

The opening is 13 minutes of complete nonsense.

The following scene is probably the most famous piece of the movie and includes some unbelievable moves by a dance group called "Whitey's Lindy Hoppers".

Best movie of the past few years is "Babylon" and the opening scene is a classic.

What do you do when your elephant is too heavy for your truck to haul it up the mountain?

Sticking to a car theme, Cannonball Run.

Other, Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Also, The Matrix.

A little background- My father had fallen while waterskiing and cracked a rib- a few weeks later my mom and he- and some friends- went to see this movie- he would later state that it was "The most painful experience of my life!" because he was laughing so hard...

This movie is a musical...and most "musical enthusiasts" HATE it...partially because it earned more money (at the time) Than any previous musical (Inflation) but also because they could not understand why they had "Hired NON-singers for singing rolls" I like that actually- they sing like >I< would sing!

Yes, it is a musical- but it is one of the funniest movies you will ever see- the scenes at the end with the bull in the tunnels under the town are a real hoot. One warning though- it does have some (Relatively) adult content in the story line....

Been awhile since I've watched a 240p clip on YouTube!

Surprising number of well known actors (from that era) in the film. The Trivia page is interesting.

Here's the whole movie in much higher resolution.

There's even supposedly "a red Fiero" at 36:37-36:42... but I'm not 100% sure if it's a re-bodied Fiero or what it is. I haven't watched the whole movie, so I don't know if this car reappears or not.

The opening few minutes to Kelly's Heroes isn't bad either.
