Driving along I-35 and saw this strange thing sticking up in a field near Milford Tx.(32.1487751,-96.9434613,613)
The great gawd gaggle that knows all yet nothing yielded surprisingly little.

Build one.

My first thought was that it looks like a giant Van de Graaff generator, a toy you might have seen as a kid.

But here is an article with a brief explanation: https://texashillcountry.co...s-tesla-tower-texas/

This will keep a certain demographic busy.

I read that earlier. Not much regarding who paid for it, who operated it or how far they were attempting to transport energy across air. (Tho I do suspect that Baylor University may have provided some financial support, as they are located nearby in Waco.)

Were there perhaps a couple of large spherical shaped objects at the base?

Couldn't see for all the mesquite trees but I did notice an absence of cows in the pastures...and my truck radio kept cutting on and off and the instrument panel went wonky a few times. (that's a technical term...'wonky' is)

Yes, I've heard that same thing being reported numerous times over the years.
