There’s a lot of stupid commercials out there.
What is your top pick for the stupidest commercial ever?
I’ll start this party…….
The idiotic slew of commercials from Suburu where at the end of the commercial they say “Suburu- Love”. In the words of Tina Turner, “What’s love got to do with it”? Or in this case, what’s love got to do with whether a car is mechanically and electronically good and reliable? In my opinion, people are easily duped in this country. You would think they would put an experienced car mechanic or engineer in the commercial explaining why the car has technical merit, good engineering, reliable, etc. But no, the duped crowd goes, “Suburu-Love, what a great concept. Makes total sense to me. Im gonna go right out and buy one”.

Speaking of Subaru’s…. I heard the flat six boxer engines (from 2001 on) have that hideous and diabolical internal gear driven water pump. Patrick, please tell me you don’t have one of these?

Any of the Nissan commercials with the arrogant woman.....Also, any Xfinity commercial- it is amazing how completely stupid their commercials are.....I first noticed them with the female from "Parks & recreation" (Ackkk!!) and continuing up to the newest one with the 15 year old telling the younger kid "When I was your age..."

Also the new Milk commercials are stupid and annoying (Hey Milk-Corp. dumb-buns; go look at the old 'Got Milk" commercials from back in the 80s- Those were great commercials; Watch "Got milk hell")

I have one of these I bought for my mother, 2017 Subaru Legacy 3.6R, great engine, trying to find another one for myself now. the 2020+ models got rid of it and went to a 2.4L Turbo, and a TON of nanny crap annoyance devices, trying to find a 2017-2019 car.

I've never (that I know of) heard a Subie flat six. Does it have any type of "rumble" to it at all, like the flat four does (with unequal length headers)? Or is it inherently smooth due to the additional two cylinders?

[EDIT 1] The price of gas dropped here today (we have the highest gas prices in North America), so I headed off to the local Shell station to fill the Subie with 93 octane. As I was pulling into the station, a passenger in one of the other cars getting gas there yells out to me... "Hey man, beautiful car!" The guy obviously has excellent taste in automobiles.lol

[EDIT 2] I stumbled across this video, I Supercharged My Subaru Legacy, which involves the Subaru flat six. I think you guys will enjoy it. And if you did enjoy that video, you'll salivate watching the Dyno Run.

It sounds a lot smoother than my STI did, I've heard the Subaru rumble comes more from the unequal length headers. The STI was faster of course, but the 6 cylinder is about on-par with the WRX, without the turbo lag.
