Found this in my lawn... (Page 1/1)
Patrick JUL 18, 12:17 AM

While I was mowing the lawn, I spotted something in the grass that appeared to be a case of some sort. I didn't have my glasses on me, so I really couldn't see what I was holding after I picked it up. I couldn't figure out how to open it up. Not being able to see it clearly didn't help... but it smelled kind of nice. It's about 3"x2"x3/4". Here's an online image of what I found. Some of you will immediately know what it is. For those who don't already know what it is, and without looking it up... care to make any guesses?

I'm guessing it's a vape of some kind?

And you would be right! I had no idea what it was, even with my glasses on and looking right at it.

The thing at the top is a mouthpiece. And apparently when the non-rechargeable battery still has some life, that dark panel has an LED display showing the number of vapes taken... or left... I'm not sure.

I don't know how long these devices last for, but it seems pretty wasteful to be chucking out something this substantial when it runs out of juice... not that I agree with the marketing of these devices in the first place.

It does have a nice residual smell to it though. Mango Peach Guava. Even the cat kind of liked it.

I’m so naïve.
I thought it was a car air freshener.😊

I used a rebuildable/modular vape thing-a-ling to quit smoking, and found it to be pretty effective. The disposable ones trip me out. I liked that I could focus on the gadget-y aspect of rebuilding parts of my vape, learning how it worked, and could control/step down my nicotine in a way I controlled; it turned quitting into it's own little hobby. These just seem like mainlined nicotine.

It's interesting because I forgot that these were used to STOP smoking. People here tend to modify them to put out quadruple the smoke while using them to CONTINUE to smoke rather than quit.

I believe that's how they were initially marketed... but you know and I know and we all know that it was just another way to try and further addict a segment of the population to nicotine.

Full props to people like Dustin who were actually able to make use of these devices to rid themselves of cigarettes (and not trade one addiction for another).

* Even though the literature on this particular device indicated the battery was non-rechargeable, it turns out that a small port on the side is actually a USB-C charging port. So I plugged my charger in... and sure enough, the LED panel has sprung to life.

Hmmm... there must be something I can make use of this rechargeable battery with.

...or maybe the whole device could be used as a makeshift smoke machine for locating engine vacuum leaks.

⚠️ Warning: Most, if not all, vape crap has LiIon batteries.
This can burn you & more w/o warning if damaged/defective.

If the battery is "dead" is safer but better to treat any lithium battery is full charge & don't crush them etc.
You can't trust battery is dead only because won't work.

More so w/ "no name" brands or custom build units.
