Self-parking now, next thing you know cars will drive themselves. I'm guessing most of you enjoy driving? I boycott any of that crap that does the work of driving for me. BMW and Lexus can DIAF. |

the bmw is the drivers car. there is a reason they have a button to turn that **** off. but when u want to have it when driving normaly it can help u avoide a accident. it can pull manuevers the best of drivers can't because of its indidual wheel braking and other things.
my bmw isn't a fiero. i don't think my dcs system is going to brake anytime soon or all the time like a fiero. and if it does. no I will not be raped. i paid for the longer warentee and bmw covers it. guess what when my warentee is up. i will get the last of one of the new e46 m3's with a new warentee. and they will pay for anything that brakes then too. you sound like a dumb ass. ooh i will take driving with skill any day over some stupid **** . that takes control out of my hands.
your just a ****ing kid dude, have you even been to a racing school? or u just watched the fast and the furious. learned how to pull the e brake on your car, and think u can drive like the **** . the bmw doesn't take control out of your hands with dcs bye the way. if anything it gives u more control. lets say you have to avoide a accident lets say you have no choice but to swerve around a car on the freeway and as you swerve back your fiero starts to oversteer. a car can only be pushed so far. u only had two choices. hit the car in front of you. or turn sharp enough to avoide it but induce oversteer enough oversteer that u no longer can bring it back behind you.? guess what. doesn't matter how good of a driver you are. once ur to far. you only have a limited amount of options. a bmw with dsc won't let u start a oversteer. you can point it somewhere and it goes without allowing oversteer, by using each brake pad indivdualy to give u way better steering control. and angle. and u don't have to worry about oversteer that u can't correct.
and what about everyone else. that just wants to drive from point a to point b. they arnt into cars and don't give a **** about performance or driving. they want to hop on the freeway and go somewhere. and they have to avoid somthing. guess what. they don't have any driver training they just want to go to work. they can lock there brakes in a fiero not know what to do and slam into the car. or they can slam on there brakes. and let the bmw insure it doesn't lock its wheels. and is able to manuver around the car safly without them sliding out of control. and killing them and there kid in the back seat.
please tell me tinton. what car driving classes racing schools u have been too? and if you want to have complete control over somthing.
stop dicking with a car and get a sportbike. then you will relize u have alot less control then you think you do. why are you not pissed that when u press the brake all 4 brakes engauge? on a bike you have individual control over each brake, thats control. that makes a diffrence. don't have that in your fiero tho do you? damn gm for taking away some of your control.
stop spouting **** like your some bad ass driver. and that bmw can suck your nuts.
your a kid. with a little fiero. and a big head. don't get yourself killed. give up that I am in total control of my car attitude and go take some scca classes and auto x events. and you will relize. you don't know **** about what control means. and ur just starting to get a taste, in autox

Well,,,,,,,,,,
I've been to Danny McKeever's Fastlane at Willow Springs for two days and Skip Barber's at Laguna Seca (because I wanted to drive open wheels before I die) as well as 3 years of the Evolution autocross school and more than a few track days and SCCA HPDE's. If you'd care to compare notes, I'm game. I think you'll find a lot of people on here with more racing and driving experience than you.
The words "a drivers car" don't go very well with needing abs, traction control, etc. A DRIVER already has all that programmed into his brain, when he/she is pushing hard, that is USING the driver's car at the limit. ABS, Traction Control, and things of that nature are there to AID people that don't have the proper skills ALL of the time, which is all of us since nobody is ever at the top of their game 100% of the time.
That said, you took your raping early when you bought the extended warranty. You still got raped, you just got raped before you broke down. Assuming you even paid for it seeing as how a couple weeks ago you were advertising to trade an Xbox360 for some work done on your Fiero. If you had the money (yourself) to BUY the Bimmer and pay the insurance as a (what, 19 year old??) then paying to get work done on your Fiero should be a minor thing, right?
I avoid your posts like the plague (like when you passed the "porschea" at 150 mph), but when you start telling everyone else that THEY don't know how to drive and that "YOU" paid for extended warranty on your Bimmer while you're trying to trade an Xbox360 for Fiero repairs is a bit hard to ignore.

Yep it would be your fault.
if you watch the commercials, the guy has his hands just over the wheel, so he can take control at any moment if ( when ) it fails.
Personally i wouldnt trust it, i can imagine a kid running across the yard after a ball and falling in the way, too fast for the car to react, but plenty of time for you react ( and predict .. loose ball = kid ) and stop.

from what ive seen, you have to hold the brake while its parking and it gives you warnings and stuff if its going to fast. I think any reasonable person would hit the brakes if they think they are going to hit the car behind them.
As for tcs and active handling. They are incredible, I couldnt drive my vette in the rain without them. I agree that you should have a lot of driving skill, but if your going around a turn and it feels the yaw of the car isnt corresponding with the direction the wheel is turned, it will fix it. It gives me a lot of peace of mind if anything when the weather turns sour. I don't track/race my cars so I can use all the help I can get trying to drive overpowered rwd cars year round!

I doubt it, because the idiots driving it would be using the parking time to apply makeup, finish paperwork, or call 3 diffrent people on 2 cellphones. People are stupid, put them in a car and they get even dumber, give them the impression that the car will do something for them and they might as well be brain dead

im 23, i wasn't raped on any warentee. I earn my money and can spend it where i choose. I own my own business. and make plenty of money. the cost of the warentee was nothing to me.
i guess you didn't get the porshea thread. it was a joke about one of cali kids storys. apperently you didn't figure that out and took me serious?
the reason I offerd the xbox 360 for fiero repair work is i own over 5 cars. my fieros are on the very bottom of my give a **** about it list. one sits with low milage in storage. and the other has a blown head gasket. I don't play my xbox 360 anymore. so i made a offer to give it to someone that wanted to do some work on my car. does that mean I don't make over 100 thousand a year? no it means I no longer have a use for my xbox 360. and don't feel like acctualy putting any money into my fiero. because it isn't at the top of my prioritys.
yes and i am sure everyone else here in huntington beach, new port beach, hollywood, beverly hills, and malibu are all upset about being rapped on there bmw warentee's if only we all where smart enough to drive fieros like you huh? and u just discribed exactly what i was saying when u explained that no one was at the top of there game 100 percent of the time. so what are you trying to argue with me against? that u have more on skill track time? good for you, your older. you have had the time to do so. it wasn't a contest. it was asking tinton how much he had. "none" and he goes off on how bmw traction control is gay. guess what. you just said yourself no one is ever at the top of there game. and that, that system has and can save epoples lives.
and since this forum loves proof allow me to post some. so you don't have to ask. your all also to welcome some other members here that i hang out with. that i don't bullshit. I buy my own **** . with my own money. with business i opend myself.

business 2 business license

I pulled fuses on my ABS and ESP....I can drive my own car without worrying about what the computer wants it to do...thank you. Ive been driving since 1960s and havent hit anything yet, although Ive had idiots with ABS and whatever run into me. Ive had wrecks on the racetrack (duhh) where no one is allowed to have any of that crap.

wait wait. you guys are right? what am i thinking! tecnology sucks! yes! yes! lets all go back to carb'd cars. with drum brakes and no power assist. technology scares me!
like it or not. no matter how well you drive. there are cars with traction systems that can hand you your ass. good example would be the skyline. a driver can't think over a million times a second and apply traction to each individual tire as it starts to lose it. with each individual brake.
there is traction control systems out there good enough now a days. and I am damn glad abs is around. because 80 percent of thepeople that don't know to relse the brake after its been locked up or do know and panic. it keeps them from sliding into my car.

I completely agree. I didnt add that in because I would assume that the normal public would benefit and it didnt need repeated again.
