PLEASE Cliff!! (Page 2/4)

Quoting is one thing but copy/paste whole articles? News reporting is covered in Copyright in most countries.

At many Forum sites, moderators will edit you post to remove copyright materials and will ban users for repeated posting copyright items...

So Far, none of news source is sending a Cease & Desist notice, or worse suing, Cliff for allowing copyright news items. Maybe PFF is not big enough for most news outlets to bother. Many has software to scan the web and automatically generate C&D notices. Don't be surprise if/when Cliff gets notice and shuts down Totally O/T or even whole site to clean up the mess or permanently...

Be glad PFF is not in U.S... Then news outlets can send DMCA notice to Cliff, Hosting service, ISP, etc... Many Hosting Service just shut off site and its site owners to fix the mess and deal w/ DMCA notice.... No warning etc...

If I "uncheck" politics, I miss what others who are not addicted to flood-posting politics are saying.. if I leave it checked, I have to sort through all sorts of garbage to find something worth reading. Just my opinion.

i use the universal ignore button, my mind.. and just don't go into threads I'm not interested in ( or don't return to ones that either went went a direction i don't like, or was not properly titled where i don't want to be ).. Works well for me.

Most 'private' boards aren't worth caring about as it doesn't effect revenue in a negative way. its the 'wide-open' ones with millions of visitors that get attention.

Personally tho, the DMCA, and those that enacted it, should be removed from society.

I guess I was coming from the "I have less time to sort through all the BS" angle. I really would like to keep up with current affair and political threads, but I don't have time anymore to sort through the mountains of crap some of the "political spewers" post in massive proliferations to find the threads that are worth reading. I guess I will "uncheck" the political threads altogether if I cannot filter out the actions of the two or three over-zealous political posters that I never read.

We ALL know who this thread is about.....
Even though nobody will name him.
And he still hasn't gotten it, and probably never will.
He even repled to this thread with a copy and paste.
So the solution is pretty simple.
Just "Forget" him.

avengador1

If I see a thread started by him, I just don't bother opening it. Simple solution.

Perhaps he could use a hobby to better occupy his time? Maybe he could get a Fiero.
