On my way to work yesterday I came up on a Eclipse GSX that didnt like to be passed by a Fiero. I was cruising about 75 and passed the guy just to get around traffic. As soon as I passed , he followed, looking to get beside me. I usually dont race but being it was a 4 lane road, no traffic for 3/4 of a mile and I just felt froggy, I decided to see what he had. Couldnt really tell what MODs he had done to the car but he did have an exhuast and maybe a upgraded turbo being I could hear his BOV when he was shifting. Then again I dont know anything about the GSX so the BOV may come stock with the car. Aways back to me beating his azz twice in two 1/8 or so WOT runs. The first run was from about 65 to 105, I jumped out ahead and he got the my front fender before he shut down. The second run was from about 75 to 115( my car really liked this power band), I jumped ahead by 2 car lengths and he never even got close. At this point it was time for my exit so I started getting over to the far left lane. He followed me over to the lane beside me and road there for a minute. As I got off on my exit, the passenger was just staring my way. Cant say I was suprised I beat him but I bet he was.

i own a 92 gsx. first thing, if you saw a fart can at the back, it probably wasnt an upgraded exhaust, just a fart can, which will **** up the power of the turbo. they do come from the factory with a BOV, but if you heard it very loud then he is probably venting it into the atmosphere just so he can get that loud sound, which will SERIOUSLY take a **** on its performance. why did he shut down? gsx's didnt have any engine cut off. judging from your "race," the guy driving has no ****ing clue how to tune a dsm and just thought that any old awd turbo is fast. if he left it stock there is no doubt in my mind that he would have beaten you, but he obviously sounds like a ricer trying to make it sound loud and venting his BOV. just another example of why trying to be cool actualy makes you stupid

Good kill! At that speed and RPM, I think that would be the sweet spot for any GSX. Good thing you had a SC3800.
LilDevil and I were in a similar situation with a DSM. This was when Devil's car just had a pully and rockers(low 13 sec car) and we ran a DSM, which looked and sounded slightly modded. From 60 mph to 100mph we had a hard time pulling on it. We did, but not much.
Never understood why Mitsu abandoned the car? It was such a good thing.
Maybe you should list your mods to educate everyone?------------------

hey abandened the car because it wasnt profitable enough. which is why my damn parts for my 92 gsx cost so ****ing much, grr.

Thats odd. I had a 90 TSI Talon (AWD Turbo) and parts were not expensive at all for that car. Cost me under $2K to run 12's.

It was a fun run with the guy but wish he would have followed me off my exit so I could have asked him what his Mods where on the car. I have always like the GSX/GST Eclipse and thought they would be a cool car to have for modding. I am with you on wondering why Mistu stopped producing the car, the Eclipse that followed them where a joke. Here is my MOD list so everyone can see what teh GSX was up against:
