What the heck happened to this place??? (Page 1/4)
cardealer MAR 16, 12:20 PM
I got out of fieros for a couple of years and come back only to find what was a very good forum has gone to crap!!!!!
Ive started 2 new fiero builds and thought I would come here again and maybe be apart of this community but it looks way too dangerous.
I could get shot at if some of the people here knew what I was really building. So if it matters and to keep from being killed my project has:
7 cylinders- with a turbo, nitrous, and a supercharger, auto and standard trans, it cost $37.55 for the swap and it get 100 miles to the gallon and will be driven everyday on half gas and half water and runs 9.90s in the 1/4 with full exhaust and street tires.........(just joking if you cant tell)

But really I should be doing some shake down runs in mid May on one of the cars (if my personal problems dont hold me back) in Kennendale (Ft.Worth) Texas, and then some real runs at the Motorplex in Ennis after that. So if some of the localish fiero racers want to join in for a little friendly wagering and racing let me know........Big money or just for grins and giggles dont matter I just would like to line up with some of the other performance enhanced (fast) fieros.........
On a side note- should Archie read this,
I know I may have only purchased 1 or 2 items from you a long time ago and dont really know you, I feel I should say -dont let these guys get to you. Even though I have been out of fieros for a while I never left the car/racing scene I have encounterd alot your true loyal fans and customers and all are very proud of the products that you sold them. From what little I read in some of the posts on here it really saddens me to see all of the trashing that has happened to you and so many of the people that choose to use your products. I know you will be around for a long time to come and continue to be succesfull, I can only hope that some of these people starting this nonsense will mature to a level that they may become as successful as you.

And on another side note-------- Hugh- my friend you havnt called in a long time....... I know Im a hard one to reach, so just send me or post some pics of car and engine. I heard it was completly Bad-A$$......................

Welcome back ! You had one of the fastest 1/4 mile fiero's right? Wasn't it SBC powered ? Yeah i thought so. The bashing and hating has gotten way out of hand on here. The sbc crowd keeps catching sh!t from all angles . Archie installs motors ,of the customers choice mind you, and catches hell because it doesn't run as fast as a 9 sec. G-body wagon. You didn't miss much man. I would like to hear more of your new project. I would really like Don kraus to show us the goodies he's been working on.

I believe it is an LS7 with some aftermarket components running through a built up 4t65e-hd. It's funny how a bunch of people say small blocks suck and when this dyno is posted it got totally ignored LOL.I guess since it isn't using archies parts it's a no brainer that it can make that power . Oh well you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Good luck with any thread you start and if it is SBC related my god have mercy on your soul ! Ok the V8 poser has spoken i shall now return to lurk mode.

Here's my theory:
PFF has been around 9 years. Over time the length of ownership has increased because of the information here. There's more people with the skills to modify and they post their mods. More unique engine/trans combinations have been developed and tried. People have told others how great this forum is. The price of a Fiero is within the range of first time car owners. The use of the internet has increased the impersonality of confrontation. There's guys that haven't worked on their cars in the mud, late at night, in the middle of winter. They think colored looms are the best way to dress up an engine. They don't have a guy down the road they pester on engine types and Chevy vs Ford discussions. It's hard to have a two way conversation over cable and easy to jerk others chains and some enjoy doing it. You can't thell them what you would in person and if you tried, they'll just enjoy the troll food. As the word if this place increases, more trolls will come.

The best thing to do is get familiar with the jerks and learn to ignore them. Over time they'll either smarten up, shut up or get banned.

Welcome back, indeed! I loved your first car, and was amazed at the reverse rotation TH-425 you built. Please enlighten us on your next set of plans. I can't imagine what evil ideas you've cooked up, but I want to know.

I kind of like this place. I know what threads to read and when not to reply once it get's out of hand.
All in all, the people I have been conversing with are real nice people. ....BUT.... you are right, there's the few we can do without.... or should I say...we can ignore, since this is an open forum.
