I didn't want to do this but certain members (of Pennock's) on this list are leaving me little choice. One in particular has chosen to hijack (or attempt to hijack) several threads by picking fights with anyone and everyone who might make a comment not to his liking. I refuse to continue any further response to his diatribes in any of those threads. And not one of his fellow Fieros West members will call him on it. A few have jumped in to correct him on some details about the state of Fieros West but no one will suggest that perhaps he was a little out of line by hijacking a thread. Even Tednelson83 has pleaded with him to just let his thread die with "stephen could you just let this thread die in peace, please?". And Ted, let me appologize right now for allowing myself to be drawn into Johnny Smith's diatribe on your thread. Good luck on you club endevors. I feel compelled to start this thread as a service to those with legitimate topics to discuss. They can all bring it over here to this legitimate discussion about the demise of Fieros West.
It's obvious that the lack of any organizational hierarchy (President, Chairperson, or whatever) that Fieros West is so proud of includes a total lack of any manner of a “Code of Conduct”.
I do not profess to be an expert on Fieros West. I only know what I’ve seen and heard of them as an occasional attendee of local Southern California Fiero events. And I’ve certainly learned allot in the past week from members of the group as they chimed in to add each of their individual bits of knowledge. They claim to be the “original” Fiero club. Since that was before my time as a Fiero fan I won’t dispute that. If anyone reading this does take issue with that claim feel free to jump in and challenge it. Frankly, I’d never heard of them until after FOCOA’s demise. And speaking of FOCOA, I find it laughable at how gingerly that issue is addressed. I have no bad history with Fiero Phil and I looked forward to my magazine subscription each month, quarter or whatever it was. But his “moving to Nevada to persue Real Estate opportunities” is truly laughable and well documented here on Pennock’s. Is there anyone here who has been reimbursed for their parts orders that he skipped out on? Anyone other than Fieros West members? If everyone has, in fact been reimbursed I will issue a huge, groveling apology here.
The disappearance of FOCOA left a huge void in the SoCal Fiero scene. It left a huge void in the world wide Fiero community. Until then Southern California had no real need for a vibrant Fiero club. We had FOCOA. But when FOCOA vanished in the night, Fieros West did step forward and eventually became that vibrant club. They put up a great website that was always kept up-to-date with pics of their latest ventures. Unfortunately for me, I was just getting involved in Fieros at the time of the beginning of their slide. And this is not to rag on the club. Seriously! I understand that things tend to take their course. Those who kept up the high standard of the club can get tired of carrying the load. When the torch is passed to someone not as skilled as others and interests in keeping up high standards wane, it’s easier to shut down an organization. Maybe “shut down” isn’t the term Fieros West would choose. “Reorganize” wouldn’t be accurate. But “disorganize” might be more appropriate.
I’ve been to a few WCF BBQ’s and always found Chris West to be a cordial host. And there is no doubt that there is a close relationship between Fieros West (the club) and West Coast Fieros (the business). Chris West is a businessman. He’s not going to do anything to anger any group of potential customers unless an associating with a group is bad for business. And I don’t expect him to get involved with this discussion. But I have to bring up the BBQ’s because some Fieros West members claim these BBQ’s as their events. Every one of these BBQ’s that I’ve either attended or read about were “Open House and BBQ at WCF” events attended by Fieros West. And the ones I attended had nothing going on unless Chris West or a family member did it including manning the grill and pouring ice into the ice chest. Everyone else just stood around. I will say here and now that I’ve yet to make it to Tehachapi. So maybe it is different there but I doubt it. If it’s not at WCF there are no Fieros West events. They claim that their next “event” is driving to the Fieros of San Diego BBQ. Again claiming someone else’s event as their own.
There’s allot more that can be said but I’ll let someone else jump in here. Everything I’ve written here is what I’ve observed. If anything is untrue due to my misperception of what I’ve either seen or read feel free to correct me. Appropriate apologies will be given.
Fieros West has been reduced to a mailing list!

If you had a problem 10 years ago with Phil Huff, then maybe you should have gotten a lawyer and taken care of it.
The only one picking and starting fights in this Forum is you.
I have used humor throughout in my posts, but some guys just don't seem to have enough brain power to process humor.
You have been welcomed in the club since the beginning.
I gave you all the tools you would need to get on the e-mail list.
You make fun of our BBQs and call us Gluttons.
You say we never meet, but we meet all the time.
Why do you insist on trying to bring us down because of problems you had 10 years ago with someone not involved in our club at all??
I stated we are the oldest because NEAL Huff started FOCOA and was one of the original FIEROS WEST guys that started our club.
FOCOA was the FIRST Fiero Club in the world and the best with their Mags and such.
I was sorry to see them go, but Phil wanted out when GM decided to AX his car and it drove his club business into the ground.
Maybe you should rant and rave to GM.
They will probably resurrect PONTIAC and the FIERO just for you, and then all these problems you have will be solved!!!

My fellow members NEVER corrected me regarding anything I said.
They actually verified my FACTS which I passed on to you.

I'm calling you out buddy, as your information is very wrong...start the apologies you promised.

You said you saw Chris West doing ALL THE WORK at the BBQS (another lie as GOOBER, STEVE, or MYSELF always manned the grill and margarita machine).
We all cleaned the shop before the event...where were you again?
Members brought food and drinks to help contribute to the BBQ.
Did you do ANYTHING TO CONTRIBUTE?
ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING NOW?
The WEBSITE is being RECONSTRUCTED by another GREAT member who CONTRIBUTES to the club as I have stated to you before.
That is the only reason it is down.
What do you do to contribute again??? I seem to have missed that in ALL your posts.

FIEROS WEST is a strong thriving club, that fellas like you have NEVER contributed to, but insist on coming on Pennock's to vent a problem you had 10 years ago with FOCOA.

Fiero Phil has never had ANYTHING to do with FIEROS WEST, the club was just based off of that by his sons and two other members.
As I stated in numerous FACTUAL posts which was verified by one of FIEROS WEST founding members.
If you think I am going to stand by and not back my CLOSE FRIENDS and our club from malicious feeble banter like yours, then you my friend are totally lost in your own little world.
If you have problems with your local club, then try attending a meeting and being proactive.
Standing off to the side and crying about Fiero Phil 10 years ago is just absurd.
Trying to evoke a following based on that and get other members to rant and rave is just as absurd.
Fiero Phil is gone...so be a man and suck up your loss 10 years ago and move on!!!!

He is great kid that has vision, he is great to talk to at Fiero events, and we were sad to see him go to the Solstice club.
I welcomed him back, and I have already received e-mail correspondence from him for his BBQ this month.
He had no problem getting on the e-mail list.

Don't worry, I won't waste anymore humor on you as it is obvious that your seemingly limited intelligence cannot process a pun.

Yes Fieroguy and Midnight you can be in our club.
The drive from Indianapolis and Ohio might be a little long so you will have to leave about 4 days early for all our events!!!
